"In 1990 I left the bench to move to Austin as General Counsel of the State Bar of Texas, then the disciplinary counsel.  One of the first members of the existing staff that I met was David Bridges.  David was then a staff trial attorney handling disciplinary cases.  We became good friends.

During my tenure at the State Bar I tried several cases, usually as second chair because I preferred to have the lawyer already on the case remain as the lawyer in charge.  I had the good fortune to get to try a really contentious case with David Bridges in Del Rio.  It was a great experience. The real lawyer in that case was David.  He did a great job.  We eliminated an errant lawyer from the bar.

I shall always consider it an honor to have known David and tried cases with him.  He’s a fine lawyer and a great judge. I have always cherished the friendship David extended to me."
